Transfer of your camcorder or VHS tapes to DVD

Advantages

DVD is still a popular medium to record your video memories onto. As video tapes degrade over the years it is advisable to have any important memories transferred from video to digital formats such as DVD. It is widely thought that if a DVD is looked after carefully it could last a lifetime. In addition to DVD players, DVDs can be played on other devices such as personal computers, games consoles and lap tops making them more flexible.

 

Formats

We can transfer  your home video & camcorder tapes to DVD from the following formats:  VHS, SVHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi-8, Mini-DV, DV, DV-CAM and HDV. If you are not sure about your video formats please telephone us for help. We mainly record to DVD-R format in addition to and DVD+R. They are recorded region free (can be played in most countries). Please note: The maximum amount of footage we can transfer to each DVD is 2 hours.

 

Copyright

The materials supplied to us must be either created under your copyright or permission from the copyright owner must be sought prior to any conversion or duplication.

 

Quick Transfers £10 per DVD (maximum 30 minutes)

For shorter transfers we can record direct to DVD disc. No editing is possible with this method. The DVD will be provided in a clear CD jewel case or clear DVD retail case. We will also print a title onto the face of the DVD.

 

Standard Computer Transfers £20 per 2 hour DVD

This transfer is more suitable for a larger amount of footage where there is no editing  required. We will transfer material from your tapes to a single DVD. No editing is carried out although we will not include unwanted material from your tapes. The DVD is designed to play automatically when placed in your PC or player. The DVD will be provided in a clear CD jewel case or clear DVD retail case. We will also print a title onto the face of the DVD.

 

Computer Edit Transfer from £30 per 2 hour DVD

This format is more suitable if presentation is important. We will transfer material from your tapes to a single DVD and can tidy up the material with basic editing, and the addition of titles. The disc is designed to play automatically when placed in a DVD Player or can open to a Title Menu screen with play selections (thumbnails or text). Additionally, chapter menus can be produced for a more sophisticated disc layout. The DVD can be provided in a clear CD jewel case or clear DVD retail case. We will also print a title or full colour picture onto the face of the DVD.
